Bruno Spengler on pole at Zandvoort Canadian Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz) will be starting from pole position for the second DTM race of the season. In qualifying for the race at Zandvoort in The Netherlands, Spengler secured himself the best position on the starting grid.
The 27-year old had already been fastest in qualifying for the season opener at Hockenheim. His fellow Mercedes-Benz driver Jamie Green will be lining up next to him on the front row of the grid. Green came 0.135 seconds short of Spengler’s fastest time. With Mike Rockenfeller in third and Martin Tomczyk in fourth place, there are two Audi drivers on the second row of the grid. Mattias Ekström (Audi) will start Sunday’s race from a position that is rather unusual for him: the Swede was out after the first heat as he ended up only 16th.
