Updates for Williams in Canada Williams will head to the Canadian Grand Prix with several new parts as they look to pick up points for only the second time this season.
After a disastrous start to the 2011 campaign, Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado showed in Monaco that there is still some life left in the former Champions with some gutsy displays. Barrichello broke the team's duck with a ninth-placed finish while Maldonado was on course for his first points in F1 only to have it snatched away when McLaren's Lewis Hamilton collided with him.
The team now hopes to build on that performance and, besides taking a new front wing and brake ducts to Montreal, they will also be using a modified diffuser during practice.
"Set-up is geared towards aero efficiency on the straights and maximizing traction out of the slow speed corners," technical director Sam Michael said.
"We will have a new front wing, brake ducts, barge boards and modified diffuser to test during practice, as well as the obligatory new rear wing for the lower drag level required in Canada."
Barrichello says managing the brakes will be key to success in Canada.
"It is important to get a good car set-up with a focus on managing the brakes and getting maximum traction," he said.
"The minimum speed is low but traction is hard on tires and there are a lot of hard braking areas throughout the lap. Turn One, for example, is a corner that you carry a lot of speed into and then you brake hard into the hairpin in first gear.
"The hairpin is probably one of the most exciting parts of the track as the fans that base themselves there are great.
