Mattias Ekstrom claims pole position at Nurburgring

For the 17th time in his career, Mattias Ekström (Audi) will be starting from pole position into a DTM race. In qualifying for the sixth DTM season round at the Nurburgring, he secured the best starting grid position in changeable weather conditions, followed by Jamie Green (Mercedes-Benz).
With a lap time of 1:32.066 minutes in the fourth qualifying heat, the Swede was more than three seconds faster than British driver Green. Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) and Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz) will be starting from the second row on the grid in third and fourth place respectively on Sunday.
