Another broken back in IndyCar Rahal Letterman Lanigan IZOD Indy Car Series driver Pippa Mann has been diagnosed with an end-plate fracture of the C7 vertebrae as a result of Saturday’s accident during practice for the MoveThatBlock.com Indy 225 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The injury was not apparent on the initial x-rays and was discovered during a follow-up MRI done in Indianapolis through the Indy Car medical staff, and the results were confirmed by Dr. Terry Trammell.
The injury is not expected to keep Mann from making her next scheduled Indy Car start, which is slated for to come at the Kentucky Indy 300 on October 2. RLL is currently scheduled to test at Kentucky Speedway with Mann - who won the 2010 Firestone Indy Lights event at Kentucky - on September 13.
