Risi team only commits to Sebring While the future of Risi Competizione's season-long Ferrari ALMS program remains in question, the Houston-based squad has confirmed its entry for next month's 60th annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. After being unhappy last year about the restrictions placed on their performance by the ALMS, they could run the full 2012 Grand-Am schedule instead.
Team manager Dave Sims told SPEED.com Thursday that the team will enter a single Ferrari F458 Italia in the GT category for the American Le Mans Series season-opener, with a yet-to-be-determined driver lineup.
With Sebring also playing host to the first round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, Ferrari drivers could come at a premium, as AF Corse will field two WEC season-long entries for Giancarlo Fisichella, Gianmaria Bruni, Andrea Bertolini and Olivier Beretta.
Sims said he expects Risi's lineup to be finalized next week following a Ferrari driver allocation meeting. The likes of Toni Vilander, Rafa Matos and Mika Salo are believed to be in the mix.
