Michael Schumacher turned the fastest lap in his Mercedes to lead the second practice session for the Chinese GP F1 race at Shanghai with a lap of 1m35.973s. He was the only driver to break into the 1m35s bracket.
Lewis Hamilton was 2nd for McLaren and Sebastian Vettel 3rd for Red Bull. Mark Webber was fourth in the second Red Bull Renault, with Nico Rosberg fifth, Jenson Button sixth and Komai Kobayashi in seventh for Sauber.
Paul Di Resta ended the day in eighth for Force India, just ahead of teammate Nico Hulkenberg and Fernando Alonso rounded out the top 10 for Ferrari.
Michael Schumacher "It was a trouble-free day, and I am quite happy with how our car is handling so far here. The balance of the car was reasonably good, and obviously a balanced car contributes a lot to lap time. As a team, we are a lot stronger in certain areas this season, and we have a much better base to work from, although we are not quite where we want to be with this car yet but I am confident we will get there. We will now have to look deeper into the data in order to find out where we really are here, but I am looking forward to tomorrow's qualifying."
