Infineon Raceway is no more As we previously reported, the old Sear Point Raceway will no longer be called Infineon Raceway as of Friday, June 1.
Their 10-year sponsorship with Infineon Technologies will expire and the company has decided not to renew the agreement. They are actively pursuing a new partner to take over naming rights, but nothing is imminent at this point.
For that reason, SMI will not convert to a new formal name on June 1, instead they will use the regional designation of “Sonoma.” This will enable their internal/external sales teams to continue their pursuit of a naming rights sponsor.
They have set a timeline of late Fall of this year to formally make a name change, whether or not they have a new company as their partner.
