Lewis Hamilton topped Friday's 2nd practice session at Silverstone ahead of Sunday's British GP. On a track soaking wet from the heavy rain that saw Ferrari's Fernando Alonso go aquaplaning off into the barriers in his Ferrari, Hamilton's lap of 1m56.345s was enough to top Kamui Kobayashi's Sauber and Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg both in Mercedes.
Bruno Senna also aquaplaned into the barriers on the way out of the Becketts complex. The heavily-damaged Williams caused a 10-minute red flag period. Senna stepped out unhurt.
Sergio Perez in the second Sauber rounded out the top-5. Four drivers did not even risk putting in a single lap the conditions were so bad.
