IndyCar driver Marco Andretti said today that he won’t follow his father’s race team to NASCAR if that’s the chosen path of Indianapolis-based Andretti Autosport.
Andretti said he has "so much to do" in IndyCar. He’s a career-low 15th in the standings with five races left in the season.
Edmonton Indy is Sunday at 2:45 p.m. (NBC Sports Network).
"There’s nothing appealing to me," the 25-year-old Andretti said of driving in NASCAR. “But I haven’t done enough here; not even close.
“I would never say never, maybe when I’m at the end of my career. Why not? But right now I’ve got so much to do.”
Andretti has two career IndyCar wins in 109 starts over six-plus seasons. Michael Andretti continues to say he’s interested in a Sprint Cup Series team if details can be worked out. Indy Star
