Bentley sales to keep growing in double digits this year
Bentley Motors' CEO expects another year of double-digit growth in vehicle sales, counting on unbroken demand in the United States and China.

"We have no reason to expect this momentum to end," Wolfgang Schreiber said in an interview at the Detroit auto show.

Deliveries of the super-luxury brand rose 21 percent last year to 8,500 vehicles, as sales jumped 23 percent in both the U.S. and China markets.

Bentley, known for models such as the Mulsanne limousine, plans to increase the number of dealerships by 22 percent over the next two years to about 215 worldwide.

In 2012, the company added 10 percent more dealerships, Schreiber said.

The CEO said that Bentley expects a positive decision by parent Volkswagen "in a few weeks" to proceed with plans to build its first SUV. The UK-based carmaker rolled out an extravagant SUV concept, dubbed the EXP 9 F, at the Geneva auto show last year.

The SUV is aimed at significantly boosting sales of the luxury brand, with Bentley targeting annual deliveries of between 3,000 and 4,000.
