Rolex 24 Hour 8: Scott Pruett Jumps Ahead At Rolex 24 At Daytona After eight hours of the 51st Rolex at Daytona, Scott Pruett was back where he started: out front. The No. 01 TELMEX/Target Chip Ganassi Racing BMW/Riley led under full-course caution with 16 hours left at Daytona International Raceway. Kevin Estre went off at Turn 5 in the No. 18 Nuehiner Motorsports America Porsche and could not get the car going, necessitating the yellow.
Pruett led from Max Angelelli in the No. 10 Velocity Motorsports Corvette DP and the No. 02 Target/TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing BMW/Riley of Scott Dixon. The top six Daytona Prototypes were shown on the lead lap.
Filipe Albuquerque led GT for Alex Job Racing and Audi in the No. 24 Audi R8 GRAND-AM. Three manufacturers were in the top-three: Alessandro Balzan in the No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Michelotto Ferrari 458 was second, followed by Jon Potter in Magnus Racing’s class pole-sitting No. 44 Porsche GT3.
Shane Lewis continued to lead GX for Napleton Racing in the No. 16 Porsche Cayman. He was three laps ahead of Ryan Everlsey in the No. 38 BGB Motorsports Porsche Cayman.
