Rusty Wallace Racing returns Rusty Wallace Racing, which closed its doors because of a lack of sponsorship prior to the 2012 season, hopes to compete in 10-15 Nationwide Series races in 2013 with driver Steve Wallace.
Steve Wallace, son of soon-to-be NASCAR Hall-of-Famer Rusty Wallace, will have sponsorship from the mortgage and real-estate firm Richard Tocado Companies. His first race in the No. 66 Ford will be in May at Charlotte. Wallace has six career top-five finishes in 192 career Nationwide starts.
“We all learned a lot over the last year or two and we’re looking forward to having the opportunity to show it,” team owner Rusty Wallace said in a news release.
“Our goal for 2013 is to compete in 10-15 events. We’re looking forward to growing our relationship with the Richard Tocado Companies and are very positive about what the future holds.”
Rusty Wallace started the team in 2004 and developed it for his son. The organization has just one Nationwide victory — in 2004 with Jamie McMurray. Sporting News
