Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips to sponsor Bristol race Comedian Jeff Foxworthy said that if he needs content for jokes, all he has to do is visit a NASCAR race.
Apparently, he was looking for a way to get more “you might be a redneck” material. Foxworthy’s Original Grit Chips will sponsor the spring Nationwide Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway for the next four years, track officials announced Wednesday.
The race — to be named the Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300 — won’t be the comedian’s first venture into race sponsorship. The Foxworthy snacks were the title sponsor for the Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta last August.
It was there where Foxworthy delivered one of his typical NASCAR lines:
"You might be a redneck … if you think the last four words of the Star-Spangled Banner are 'gentlemen start your engines.’”
