What are Kurt Busch’s plans when he returns to Talladega Superspeedway Oct. 18-20 for the Camping World RV Sales 500? You can maybe read it in Kurt’s comically confident facial expression, but the sign says it all – “I Wanna Go Fast!”
Those recognizable words were quoted from infamous movie character icon Ricky Bobby, who sported the Wonder bread color scheme in the 2006 movie Talladega Nights. Wonder bread will be back at Talladega, this time with Busch and his No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Team, which is in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship.
Although he hasn’t won at NASCAR’s Most Competitive track, Busch has been “Fast” at Talladega, producing 13 top-10 finishes, including six top-five finishes and four third-place efforts. Now, all he wants to do after the conclusion of the Camping World RV Sales 500, is hold a sign from Victory Lane that states: “I Went Fast and Won Talladega.” Joining Kurt’s colorful Wonder bread car is the mammoth Wonder bread hot air balloon that will tower outside of turn 4 at the track throughout the event weekend.
