Reynard Motorsport has expanded its business over the last few years,
resulting in relocation to a purpose built 14-acre complex at Brackley,
Northamptonshire, a site shared with the British American Racing Formula
One Team. This move has generated the sale of surplus equipment together
with a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to buy some prized racing cars.
FPDSavills has been instructed to catalogue and auction some 600 lots.
A number of lots have 'star' status in the sale and are expected to attract both collectors and enthusiasts alike. These include a DAMS 1995
Formula One Prototype Racing Car, a 1992 Reynard 92D Formula 3000 Show
Car and a 1999 Reynard 99i Champ Car, as raced by Patrick Carpentier in
the USA FedEx Champ Car Series. Other collectable lots to be offered
include 15 Reynard Go-Karts, spares to fit 1995 - 96 Reynard Champ Car,
1996 - 98 Ford Mondeo Touring Car, 1997-98 Panoz GTR1 and a selection of
body panels, wings, seats, wheels and many other parts, tools and specific related equipment. There will also be a range of computers,
office equipment and furniture amongst the lots offered for sale.
Reynard Motorsport was formed by Adrian Reynard in 1973 and has become
the world's leading production race car manufacturer with a turnover of
around £40million. The company has won several awards for export including the Queens Award twice.
Shay Campbell, Operations Manager at Reynard Motorsport says, "Moving
has given us a chance to spring clean the original, Bicester site of the
company and this sale seemed an ideal solution for disposing of items
that we no longer require and do not have the space to keep. There are
some very collectable items on offer, which unfortunately we must part
with to make way for other things as we expand and move ahead in this
exciting business.
Mike Hanson, Auctioneer form FPDSavills comments, "This is one of our
more unusual sales offering some exciting lots which are sure to generate interest from enthusiasts and collectors to the intrigued and
curious casual buyer or even spectator. We anticipate a great deal of
interest generally and expect a large attendance throughout viewing and
sale days.
The sale is scheduled for Tuesday 5th September at 10.30am at the Reynard
Centre, Telford Road, Bicester, Oxon. Lots will be available for viewing on Monday 4th September between 9am and 4pm. Catalogue e-
mail request line will shortly be available. For further information,
