Dixon, Force, Tonglet Crowned Champs at NHRA Finale

Larry Dixon, John Force, and LE Tonglet were crowned champions on Sunday in a drama-filled finale for the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series at the 46th Annual Auto Club Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. In the final race of the six-race Countdown to the Championship, the titles in three of the series’ top divisions came down to the finals on Sunday, with a wily veteran and a Cinderella-story rookie looking to make history with their last runs of the season.

Tony Schumacher, Ashley Force Hood, Allen Johnson and Eddie Krawiec captured the no.1 spots in their respective divisions on Saturday as the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship entered the final event at the 46th Annual Auto Club Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. Greg Anderson clinched his fourth NHRA title in the Pro Stock division.

Tony Schumacher, Ashley Force Hood, Allen Johnson and Hector Arana held onto the top spots in Saturdays qualifying session as the Countdown to the Championship entered the homestretch at the 11th Annual Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  All four top qualifiers from Friday’s sessions held onto their respective positions and the valuable bonus point that with them as the season comes down to the final two races.
Dixon, Pedregon, Connolly, Hines Win at Reading

Larry Dixon and Andrew Hines spread out their points lead while Cruz Pedregon and Dave Connolly surprised the championship contenders with final round victories on Sunday at the NHRA Full Throttle Toyo Tire Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, PA. Dixon and Hines stayed atop the standings in the Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle divisions, while the Funny Car and Pro Stock leaders fell in the fourth of six races in the Countdown to the Championship.

Larry Dixon, Matt Hagan, Allen Johnson, and Hector Arana topped the leaderboard in Saturday’s qualifying sessions for Sunday’s 26th annual NHRA Full Throttle Toyo Tires Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway – the fourth of six races in the Countdown for the Championship. Top Fuel points leader Larry Dixon captured his eighth top qualifier spot of the season with a track-record time of 3.786 at 322.42 mph in the final session.
Schumacher, Hagan, Anderson & Tonglet Win at Dallas

Tony Schumacher, Matt Hagen, Greg Anderson and LE Tonglet picked up final round victories on Sunday as the points battle heated up in the third race in the Countdown to the Championship at the 25th annual O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex. The gap at the top of the points standings in all four pro divisions got a little narrower as three of the four point leaders fell in the final round, while Top Fuel leader Larry Dixon failed to make it past the semis.
Dixon, Wilkerson, Johnson, Smith No. 1 at Dallas

Larry Dixon, Tim Wilkerson, Allen Johnson and Matt Smith earned top qualifier positions after a rain-soaked day of qualifying at the Texas Motorplex for Sunday’s NHRA Full Throttle 25th annual O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals. Persistent showers pushed Saturday pro session well into the late evening, forcing NHRA officials to cancel the fourth round of Funny Car qualifying, while Top Fuel, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle completed their fourth rounds, with the cool, clean track conditions leading to some record-breaking runs in the final rounds.

Larry Dixon, Greg Anderson and LE Tonglet advanced their title hopes while Cruz Pedregon played the role of the spoiler with final round victories in Sunday’s third annual NHRA Full Throttle O’Reilly Auto Parts Nationals at zMax Dragway. It was feast or famine in the second event in the Countdown for the Championship, with the top contenders in Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle gaining ground, while the points leaders in Funny Car and Pro Stock fell in the first round.

Cruz Pedregon, Cory McClenathan, Jason Line and L.E. Tonglet scored the no. 1 qualifier positions for Sunday’s third annual NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series O’Reilly Auto Parts Nationals at zMax Dragway. Cory McClenathan, Cruz Pedregon, Greg Anderson, and Andrew Hines took the top provisional qualifying spots following Friday’s opening round of qualifying for the NHRA Full Throttle O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C. Patience was the order of the day in Friday’s qualifying session as several oildowns and the subsequent cleanup pushed the action well past 9pm.

Larry Dixon, Ashley Force Hood, Greg Stanfield and L.E. Tonglet scored victories in the lead-off event to the Countdown to the Championship in Monday’s NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series 56th Annual Mac Tools US Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.  The Top Fuel finals matched up the top two drivers in the Countdown standings, with points leader Larry Dixon topping Cory McClenathan for his tenth victory of the season.

As the Countdown to the Championship begins, the records continued to fall at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series 56th Annual Mac Tools US Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis as excellent track conditions led to new track records and new top qualifiers in all four classes and a new national record in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Larry Dixon grabbed the provisional pole in Top Fuel while Matt Hagan bested the Funny Car division.
Dixons Wins Top Fuel Final In Spring Nationals

Larry Dixon edged fellow Toyota driver Anton Brown as the two finished off a dominating weekend to win the NHRA Spring Nationals at Houston Raceway Park Sunday. With the victory, Dixon became just the third driver in NHRA history to win 50 Top Fuel events. After a day that began with rain and ended late Saturday, the perfect spring conditions returned to Houston Raceway Park for eliminations in race five of the 23-race 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Series. The sunny skies warmed the track significantly throughout the day, pushing track temps over 100 degrees for most of the time.

McClenathan, Force, Edwards, Smith win 4-wide Nats

Cory McClenathan, John Force, Mike Edwards, and Matt Smith collected important and memorable victories at the historic inaugural NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, which concluded Monday at zMax Dragway. Persistent afternoon rain Sunday at zMax Dragway forced NHRA officials to postpone the conclusion of the event.
NHRA qualifying from zMaz Dragway

Cory McClenathan, Robert Hight, Jeg Coughlin and Matt Smith claimed the top spots in Saturday’s record-setting qualifying session for Sunday’s NHRA Full Throttle Series 4-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway.  McClenathan’s top speed from Friday’s session of 319.82 mph and a 3.790 elapsed time stood up through Saturday’s qualifying, giving Cory Mac his 35th-career NHRA Top Fuel top starting spot and his second of the season coming off his performance at Pomona.

Schumacher powers to Top Fuel win in Gatornationals

Tony Schumacher added yet another impressive NHRA Top Fuel win to his resume with a victory over teammate Antron Brown in Sunday’s 41st Annual Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway. Tim Wilkerson beat out Bob Tasca III to top the Funny Car division, while Jason Line topped Mike Edwards in the Pro Stock final. Eddie Krawiec took top honors in the Pro Stock Motorcycle final over Shawn Gann.
NHRA To Run Four Wide At zMax Dragway

The National Hot Rod Association announced Thursday that for the first time in the series’ history, the NHRA’s top four divisions will compete four-wide in qualifying and elimination rounds during the 2010 Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway on March 25-28. Drivers in the NHRA Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle will qualify and race four wide, with the top two drivers from each elimination round advancing to the next round.
