Dixon, Force, Tonglet Crowned Champs at NHRA Finale
by Pete McCole Larry Dixon, John Force, and LE Tonglet were crowned champions on Sunday in a drama-filled finale for the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series at the 46th Annual Auto Club Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. In the final race of the six-race Countdown to the Championship, the titles in three of the series’ top divisions came down to the finals on Sunday, with a wily veteran and a Cinderella-story rookie looking to make history with their last runs of the season.

Top Fuel points leader Larry Dixon captured his eighth top qualifier spot of the season with a track-record time of 3.786 at 322.42 mph in the final session.
Schumacher, Hagan, Anderson & Tonglet Win at Dallas
by Pete McCole Tony Schumacher, Matt Hagen, Greg Anderson and LE Tonglet picked up final round victories on Sunday as the points battle heated up in the third race in the Countdown to the Championship at the 25th annual O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex. The gap at the top of the points standings in all four pro divisions got a little narrower as three of the four point leaders fell in the final round, while Top Fuel leader Larry Dixon failed to make it past the semis.

Larry Dixon grabbed the provisional pole in Top Fuel while Matt Hagan bested the Funny Car division.
NHRA Larry Dixon edged fellow Toyota driver Anton Brown as the two finished off a dominating weekend to win the NHRA Spring Nationals at Houston Raceway Park Sunday. With the victory, Dixon became just the third driver in NHRA history to win 50 Top Fuel events. After a day that began with rain and ended late Saturday, the perfect spring conditions returned to Houston Raceway Park for eliminations in race five of the 23-race 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Series. The sunny skies warmed the track significantly throughout the day, pushing track temps over 100 degrees for most of the time.
McClenathan, Force, Edwards, Smith win 4-wide Nats

Persistent afternoon rain Sunday at zMax Dragway forced NHRA officials to postpone the conclusion of the event.

McClenathan’s top speed from Friday’s session of 319.82 mph and a 3.790 elapsed time stood up through Saturday’s qualifying, giving Cory Mac his 35th-career NHRA Top Fuel top starting spot and his second of the season coming off his performance at Pomona.
Schumacher powers to Top Fuel win in Gatornationals
by Pete McCole Tony Schumacher added yet another impressive NHRA Top Fuel win to his resume with a victory over teammate Antron Brown in Sunday’s 41st Annual Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway. Tim Wilkerson beat out Bob Tasca III to top the Funny Car division, while Jason Line topped Mike Edwards in the Pro Stock final. Eddie Krawiec took top honors in the Pro Stock Motorcycle final over Shawn Gann.
by Pete McCole The National Hot Rod Association announced Thursday that for the first time in the series’ history, the NHRA’s top four divisions will compete four-wide in qualifying and elimination rounds during the 2010 Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway on March 25-28. Drivers in the NHRA Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle will qualify and race four wide, with the top two drivers from each elimination round advancing to the next round.
