Bernstein, Pedregon, Johnson, Hines Win at Pomona

Brandon Bernstein, Cruz Pedregon, Allen Johnson and Andrew Hines scored victories in the season-finale for the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, while Antron Brown and Jack Beckman celebrated their 2012 NHRA title as the Countdown to the Championship came down to the wire at Pomona.
Langdon, Capps, Line, Hines On Top at Pomona

Ron Capps spent three days trying to qualify for the Auto Club NHRA Finals. He finally did it in spectacular fashion on the last of his four attempts at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona and took the battle for the Funny Car championship into Sunday’s 11 a.m. eliminations. Capps failed to qualify on Thursday and Friday. He was No. 15 in the 16-car field after Saturday morning’s third round and in danger of being bumped from the field in the final round. Then he earned the No. 1 spot after pushing his Dodge Charger to a track record 4.007-second elapsed time at 319.29 miles per hour.
Khalid alBalooshi First-Time NHRA Winner at Reading

Khalid alBalooshi raced to his first-career NHRA Top Fuel victory while Mike Neff kept his championship hopes alive with a win in Funny Car during Monday’s rain-delayed 28th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa. The Pro Stock final saw veteran V.Gaines return to victory lane, but the Pro Stock Motorcycle final was won by Mother Nature as rain postponed the final.
Beckman Sets National Record in Reading Quals

Jack Beckman pulled off a record-setting run to retain the no.1 qualifier spot in Funny Car while David Grubnic tied the fastest pass in Top Fuel history in Saturday’s final round of qualifying for the 28th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa. Jason Line raced his way to the no. 1 spot in Pro Stock, while Pro Stock Motorcycle points leader Eddie Krawiec grabbed his second-straight pole.
Brown, Beckman, Enders, Krawiec Winners

Antron Brown raced to his sixth Top Fuel victory of the season Sunday at the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park and in the process increased his championship points lead. Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were winners of the event, the first race for NHRA in the St. Louis area in more than two years.

Antron Brown raced to the Top Fuel victory Sunday at the 27th Annual AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals at the famed all-concrete Texas Motorplex near Dallas. Bob Tasca (Funny Car), Allen Johnson (Pro Stock) and Michael Ray (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were winners at the second of six playoff events in the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship. Brown claimed his fifth victory of the season.

Shawn Langdon won his first-career NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event with a victory in the Top Fuel final in Sunday’s fifth annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Nationals at zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C. Ron Capps (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also won their final rounds to score their first career zMax victories.

Shawn Langdon, Tim Wilkerson, Vincent Nobile and Andrew Hines topped NHRA qualifying for the fifth annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Nationals Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event at zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C. All four drivers held their no.1 qualifier spots from Friday’s qualifying session as the top five in all four divisions remained mostly unchanged for Sunday’s eliminations – the opening race in the six-race Countdown to the Championship.
Schumacher Scores Historic 9th U.S. Nationals Victory

Top Fuel driver Tony Schumacher added his name to the NHRA record books to become the first driver to record nine victories in the historic U.S. Nationals during the 58th running of the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series most prestigious event on Sunday at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. Mike Neff scored the victory in the Funny Car division, while Dave Connolly topped the field in Pro Stock.

One week after torrential rains from the remains of Hurricane Isaac washed out the 58th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, qualifying resumed at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis on Saturday with history-making runs by Funny Car driver Courtney Force and Pro Stock driver Erica Enders, who became the first female drivers in NHRA history to qualify no. 1 at the U.S. Nationals.
Massey, Force, Enders, Hines Lead Indy Qualifying

Spencer Massey, Courtney Force, Erica Enders and Andrew Hines topped the second day of qualifying on Saturday for Monday’s 58th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Auto-Plus at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. Massey rallied from a dismal outing in Friday’s opening round of qualifying to bounce back from 24th to first with a pass of 3.762 at 324.51 mph to bump Morgan Lucas from the top spot and also earned him a victory in the inaugural $100,000 NHRA Traxxas Nitro Shootout, a special bonus race within a race.

Ron Capps raced to the Funny Car victory Sunday at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals and moved into the Full Throttle Series points lead for the first time this season with one race remaining before the Countdown to the Championship playoffs. For the first time in NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series history, two female drivers claimed Wally trophies at the same event. Courtney Force powered her Traxxas Ford Mustang Funny Car to the winner's circle for the first time in her career, and Erica Enders earned her second career Pro Stock victory in her GK Racing Chevy Cobalt at the O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries at Pacific Raceways.

Spencer Massey, Mike Neff, Vincent Nobile and Andrew Hines scored victories in their respective divisions in Sunday’s eliminations at the 48th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. Massey notched his fourth win of the season in Top Fuel with a holeshot victory over Steve Torrence while Vincent Nobile earned a clean sweep of the Pro Stock division after winning Saturday’s $50,000 K&N Horsepower Challenge, pocketing an additional $50,000 bonus.

Tony Schumacher snapped his 32-race winless drought and Ron Capps scored a record-tying victory in Sundays 12th Annual Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event at Bristol Dragway. Mike Edwards also collected a Wally with a dead-heat victory over Allen Johnson to notch his fourth consecutive Bristol victory. For seven-time Top Fuel champion Tony Schumacher, it has been since the fall race at Las Vegas in 2010 since he last got a win light in the finals.

Antron Brown, Bob Tasca III and Allen Johnson claimed the top spots in their respective divisions in Saturday’s qualifying for Sunday’s 12th Annual Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event. Brown, Tasca and Johnson all held onto the positions they secured during Friday’s opening qualifying sessions, all the top five remained largely unchanged after Saturday.

Jack Beckman raced to his first Funny Car victory of the season Sunday at the Dollar General NHRA Summernationals at Heartland Park Topeka. David Grubnic (Top Fuel) and Allen Johnson (Pro Stock) also were winners at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event. Beckman used a quicker reaction time to defeat teammate Ron Capps in the final round with a performance of 4.158 seconds at 303.09 mph in his Valvoline/NextGen Dodge Charger.

Steve Torrance captured his first career Top Fuel victory while Ron Capps ended John Force Racing’s win streak in the Funny Car division in Sunday’s final eliminations at the 32nd Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event at Atlanta Dragway. Greg Anderson topped the Pro Stock division while Eddie Krawiec was the winner in Pro Stock Motorcycle.

The dominant start of the 2012 season continued for Funny Car racer Robert Hight when he scored his fourth win in five races at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway. Spencer Massey in Top Fuel and Greg Anderson in Pro Stock also secured wins at the fifth race of 2012 in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.

Steve Torrence notched his first career no. 1 qualifier position on Saturday as the second-generation Top Fuel driver/owner retained the top spot in Saturday’s qualifying session for Sunday’s third annual NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C. Robert Hight rebounded from two dismal performances on Friday to post his third no.1 qualifier spot in the last five events, while Jason Line’s record setting run kept him atop the Pro Stock ladder for the second straight race.

Steve Torrence, Ron Capps and Jason Line took the top spots in Friday’s opening round of qualifying for Sunday’s third annual NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C. In a qualifying format unique to this event, cars took to the track four-abreast during Friday’s two qualifying sessions – a 32,000-horsepower preview of Sunday’s eliminations.

Robert Hight raced to his third consecutive Funny Car victory of the season Sunday at the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Spencer Massey (Top Fuel) and Allen Johnson (Pro Stock) also were winners at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event. Hight earned his 26th career victory with a final-round performance of 4.154 at 312.93 mph in his Auto Club Ford Mustang to defeat Bob Tasca III.

Morgan Lucas raced to the Top Fuel victory Monday at the rain-delayed Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals presented by NAPAFilters.com. Robert Hight (Funny Car), Mike Edwards (Pro Stock), and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were winners at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event at Auto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville. Lucas powered his GEICO/Lucas Oil dragster to the second-quickest run in NHRA history with a 3.743-second time at 326.87 mph to hold off seven-time world champ Tony Schumacher, whose U.S. Army dragster lost traction early and finished in 5.289 at 139.63.

Antron Brown raced to his first win of the season in Top Fuel Sunday as racing came to an end at the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway. Robert Hight and Jason Line were also winners in their respective categories at the second of 23 races in the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing season.  Brown held off fellow Don Schumacher Racing teammate Tony Schumacher in the final round when he powered his Matco Tools dragster to a 3.793-second pass at 319.82 mph.

15-time NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series champion John Force proved that he still knows how to wheel a Funny Car to victory lane, racking up his 134th career victory on Sunday in the season-opening 52nd annual O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. Showing his hasn’t missed beat since undergoing knee surgery in the off-season, Force opened up his 34th year of competition by watching his daughter Courtney score her first round win and then took down his own driver in the final round, defeating Mike Neff on a holeshot for the his sixth Winternationals victory.
Lucas, Hight, Line Top Winternationals Qualifying

Morgan Lucas, Robert Hight and Jason line raced to the no. 1 qualifier positions in their respective divisions on Saturday in the rain-shortened final qualifying round for Sunday’s season-opening NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.  Lucas nailed down his fifth career Top Fuel no. 1 qualifier position as the last driver to take to the track in the afternoon session before it was cut short by persistent rain showers.
