John Force and Robert Hight recap 2016 season
  Talks about his personal goals for 2017
The chase for the 17th NHRA Funny Car championship may have come up short for John Force, but the 147-time winner won four races, made a run at sweeping the Western Swing and was in half of the final rounds of the Countdown to the Championship. The winningest driver in NHRA history wrapped up the season in 4th place in the Mello Yello Funny Car point standings.

Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) claimed NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series world championships Sunday at the Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. Line clinched his third Pro Stock world championship after he raced to victory in his Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro in the semifinal round, while Savoie earned his first career world championship after he advanced to the semifinals while his nearest contenders, Eddie Krawiec and Andrew Hines, were knocked out in the quarterfinals.

  Capps Clinches First Career Funny Car Championship
Funny Car racer Ron Capps clinched his first NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series world championship on Saturday at the Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. In other racing action, J.R. Todd (Top Fuel), Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the 24th and final event of the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Antron Brown secured his third NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Top Fuel world championship Sunday at the NHRA Toyota Nationals. John Force (Funny Car), Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Shane Gray (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were event winners in their respective categories at the 23rd race on the 24 event NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule.

Clay Millican piloted his dragster to the Top Fuel No. 1 qualifier on Saturday at the 16th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals. Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the 23rd race of 24 on the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule. The NHRA Toyota Nationals is the fifth event of the of the six-race NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship.

Funny Car driver Tommy Johnson, Jr., scored his first No. 1 qualifier of the season in Saturday's qualifying sessions for the Sunday's ninth annual NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMax Dragway. Johnson, Jr. joined Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Angelle Sampey (Top Fuel Motorcycle) among the top qualifiers in their respective divisions, securing all important bonus points and lane choices for the opening round of eliminations in the first race in the six-race Countdown the Championship.

Matt Hagan (Funny Car), Chris McGaha (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were winners in their respective categories at the 18th event of 24 on the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule. The Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals was the final race of the regular season.

Matt Hagan secured the No. 1 qualifier in the Funny Car division Sunday at the 62nd annual Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. Clay Millican (Top Fuel), Bo Butner (Pro Stock) and Angelle Sampey (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the 18th event of 24 on the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule. The Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals is the final race of the regular season.

Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Vincent Nobile (Pro Stock) and Angelle Sampey (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the 17th event of 24 on the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule. Del Worsham reset the Funny Car elapsed time national record twice on Saturday en route to claiming the No. 1 qualifier at the Protect the Harvest NHRA Northwest Nationals presented by Lucas Oil at Pacific Raceways just outside of Seattle. Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel) and Vincent Nobile (Pro Stock) also were qualifying leaders in their respective categories at the final of three stops on the famed NHRA Western Swing.

John Force continues his mid-season surge and raced to his second consecutive Funny Car win of the year in front of a sold-out crowd at the Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals. J.R. Todd (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and LE Tonglet (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were winners of the 15th NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event of the season in Sonoma, Calif.

  Andrew Hines Wins NHRA Pro Bike Battle event
Andrew Hines raced to his second career NHRA Pro Bike Battle win during the Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway on Saturday. Hines, received a $7,500 payday in the all-star bonus race featuring the top eight Pro Stock Motorcycles in the category. In other racing, Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Del Worsham (Funny Car), Bo Butner (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) earned No. 1 qualifying positions at Sonoma Raceway and will lead their classes into Sunday's 11 a.m. eliminations at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event.

The two winningest drivers in their respective classes in NHRA history, John Force and Tony Schumacher, scored historic victories Sunday at the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway near Denver. Allen Johnson (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were winners at the first NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series finals in history to be televised live on a national broadcast network.

Kalitta Motorsports drivers Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel) and Del Worsham (Funny Car) swept the No. 1 qualifying positions in the nitro categories at their home track of Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) will also lead their respective categories into eliminations at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, the 12th race of the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Antron Brown raced to his second Top Fuel victory of the season Monday at the rain-delayed NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway. Brown closed the gap on series points leader Doug Kalitta with a convincing victory over rival Steve Torrence in the final round. Brown powered his dragster to a winning performance of 3.769 seconds at 314.61 mph to hold off Torrence’s machine, which trailed with a 3.778 at 325.30, in a very close finish.

Defending Top Fuel world champion Antron Brown claimed his first No.1 qualifier of the season on Saturday in front of a sold-out crowd at the NHRA New England Nationals. Ron Capps (Funny Car) and Jason Line (Pro Stock) will also lead their categories into eliminations at the ninth race of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Brown set an elapsed time track record, piloting his Matco Tools dragster to a 3.701-second pass at 319.07 mph in the final round of qualifying to jump up from the fifth spot at New England Dragway near Boston.

Ron Capps set a track record and raced to the qualifying lead in Funny Car on Friday at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway. Steve Torrence (Top Fuel) and Jason Line (Pro Stock) were qualifying leaders in their respective categories at the ninth event of 24 in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series near Boston. Capps powered his NAPA Auto Parts Dodge Charger R/T to an elapsed time record of 3.865 seconds at 325.92 mph in the first session of qualifying. The track record is the second-quickest time in Funny Car history. Capps, who is in pursuit of his second No. 1 qualifier of the season and 19th of his career, won this event in 2014.

Doug Kalitta raced to his third consecutive Top Fuel victory of the season Sunday and had to navigate Heartland Park Topeka's dragstrip in an ill-handling racecar to turn on the win light in the final round at the NHRA Kansas Nationals. Matt Hagan (Funny Car) and Jason Line (Pro Stock) joined Kalitta in the winner's circle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event.

Courtney Force raced to her first Funny Car victory of the season Sunday at the NHRA SpringNationals at Royal Purple Raceway. It is the fifth consecutive NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event that has featured a female winner. Force posted a 3.913-second pass at 327.90 mph in her Chevrolet Camaro to defeat No. 1 qualifier Tim Wilkerson, who powered his Ford Shelby Mustang to a 3.943 at 323.81.

Brittany Force raced to her first career victory and took control of the Top Fuel point standings Sunday at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals. Robert Hight (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and, Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also victorious at the third of 24 events in the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Richie Crampton (Top Fuel), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were No. 1 qualifiers at the third of 24 events in the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
