Torrence, Hight, Enders, Hines clinch NHRA titles

At his home track, Funny Car's Robert Hight raced to his third career NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series world title and second in three years on Sunday by advancing to the final round of the 55th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also claimed world championships in their respective categories at the final race of the NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship. The race winners of the final event of the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season were Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Jianna Salinas (Pro Stock Motorcycle).

Defending world champ and Top Fuel points leader Steve Torrence made an impressive statement during the final qualifying session on Saturday at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, vaulting to the No. 1 spot at the Auto Club NHRA Finals. Matt Hagan (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are all No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the last of six races in the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs. The race also serves as the finale of the 24-race 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
Tyler Reddick, Brett Moffitt chasing history at Homestead

Winning back-to-back championships is hard enough. Winning two in a row while running for a different team is would be history in the making. That's what defending NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion Tyler Reddick and defending NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Champion Brett Moffitt are chasing this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

There was so much on the line in the Top Fuel final round at the Dodge NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil. A battle between the last two world champs and a chance for the points leader to expand his lead heading into the season finale or a chance for the challenger to cut his lead to next to nothing. And, oh yeah, it was a battle for the trophy at the historic 900th Top Fuel event in NHRA history.
Pritchett, Beckman, Anderson, Smith No. 1 in Vegas

A day after setting the track speed record, Funny Car championship hopeful Jack Beckman made the quickest run in The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway history on Saturday, earning the No. 1 qualifying spot at the 19th annual Dodge NHRA Nationals Presented by Pennzoil. Leah Pritchett (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the fifth of six races in the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs. The race also serves as the penultimate event of the 24-race 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

It was a Texas-sized celebration for Billy Torrence on Sunday at Texas Motorplex, as the Top Fuel Texan powered to the victory at his home track during the 34th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals. Matt Hagan (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also won in their respective categories at the fourth of six races during the NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs. It is also the 22nd of 24 events in during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
B. Force, J. Force, Coughlin, Jr., Smith on pole in Dallas

Brittany and John Force both raced to the No. 1 spot in their respective classes Saturday at Texas Motorplex during the 34th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals, as they try to become the first father-daughter combo in NHRA history to win at the same event. Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also earned No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the fourth of six races during the NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs. It is also the 22nd of 24 events in during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Steve Torrence took over the Top Fuel points lead in the Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship when he defeated Doug Kalitta at the 12th annual NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway. Robert Hight (Funny Car), Deric Kramer (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all won in their respective categories at the third of six races in the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs. It is also the 21st of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

It is the 20th of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
Crampton, Beckman, Line, Savoie win at Reading
  Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway
It's been over a year since Jack Beckman parked his Infinite Hero Foundation Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car in an NHRA winner's circle but on Sunday at the 35th annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil he came out on top and took over the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series points lead. Richie Crampton (Top Fuel), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were victors in their respective divisions at the first race of the 2019 Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
B. Force, Capps, Enders, Sampey No. 1 at Reading
  Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway
Brittany Force and her team weren't horsing around at Maple Grove Raceway in the heart of Amish country at the 35th annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil when they set a new national Top Fuel elapsed time record on Saturday. Ron Capps (Funny Car), Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Angelle Sampey (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the 19th event of the 2019 season.
John Force wins fifth-career NHRA US Nationals title
  Kalitta, Laughlin, Savoie also win at Lucas Oil Raceway Park
A month after picking up his 150th career NHRA win, 16-time Funny Car world champion John Force raced to his fifth career victory at Indy, winning the prestigious 65th annual Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals on Monday at Lucas Oil Raceway Park at Indianapolis. Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Alex Laughlin (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also won in their respective categories at the final regular-season race of the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. It is the 18th of 24 events in 2019.
Pritchett, Capps, Line Win at Brainerd
  Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway
Minnesota native Jason Line won a race for an NHRA-record 16th straight season on Sunday, racing to the wire-to-wire victory at his home track during the 38th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway. In other racing, it was a double-up victory for Don Schumacher Racing for the first time in 2019, as Leah Pritchett (Top Fuel) and Ron Capps (Funny Car) won in their respective categories at the 17th of 24 events on the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule.

B. Force, Hagan, Line Top Qualifiers at Brainerd
  Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway
Pro Stock driver and Minnesota native Jason Line secured his second No. 1 qualifier of the 2019 season and the 55th of his career at the 38th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway. Brittany Force (Top Fuel) and Matt Hagan (Funny Car) also qualified No. 1 in their respective categories at the 17th of 24 races during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
John Force Collects 150th NHRA Funny Car Victory
  Austin Prock and Matt Hartford also win in NHRA Northwest Nationals
John Force powered to his 150th Funny Car win on Sunday, rolling to the milestone victory at the 32nd annual Magic Dry Absorbent NHRA Northwest Nationals .While Force earned his 150th career win, John Force Racing teammate and Top Fuel rookie Austin Prock picked up his first career win as part of a historic day for JFR. Matt Hartford also won in Pro Stock at the 16th of 24 races during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. It was the final of three races on the famed NHRA Western Swing.

Robert Hight finished off a standout weekend by racing to his 50th career Funny Car win on Sunday at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway. Billy Torrence (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also winners in their respective categories at the 15th of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
Torrence, Johnson, Jr., Anderson, Hines Win at Denver
  Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway
Tommy Johnson Jr.'s first final round in his NHRA professional career came at Bandimere Speedway in 1991, but it took until Sunday at the 40th annual Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil for the Funny Car veteran to grab his first victory at the facility. Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also winners in their respective categories at the 14th of 24 races, and the first of three races on the famed Western Swing, during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Defending event winners Matt Hagan and Steve Torrence kept their impressive pace going at New England Dragway, as both raced to victories on Sunday at the seventh annual NHRA New England Nationals. Both wins came at the 13th of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
Millican and Todd Quickest In NHRA Qualifying

Clay Millican raced to the No. 1 qualifying position in Top Fuel on Saturday at the seventh annual NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway. Defending Funny Car world champion J.R. Todd also qualified No. 1 at the 13th of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. Qualifying concluded after the third session on Saturday due to weather.

Bob Tasca III picked up back-to-back Funny Car wins for the first time in his career, knocking off Jack Beckman in the final round on Sunday at the 13th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Chris McGaha (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also winners at the 12th of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
B. Force, Capps, Kramer, Krawiec on Pole at Norwalk

Top Fuel driver Brittany Force will start race day at the 13th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals as the No. 1 qualifier at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. Ron Capps (Funny Car), Deric Kramer (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also qualified No. 1 in their respective Mello Yello professional classes at the 12th of the 24 events of the 2019 NHRA Drag Racing Series season.
Bob Tasca III Wins First NHRA Race Since 2012
  Mike Salinas Also Victorious in Thunder Valley Nats
Bob Tasca III powered to his first Funny Car win in nearly seven years, knocking off John Force in the final round on Sunday at the 19th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway. Mike Salinas also picked up the victory in Top Fuel at the 11th of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. Both Salinas and Tasca advanced to the final round in Bristol a year ago before falling, but it was a different story for each driver in 2019.

On a milestone weekend for Doug Kalitta, the Top Fuel veteran claimed his 50th No. 1 qualifier on Saturday during his 500th career NHRA start at the 19th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway. John Force also qualified No. 1 in Funny Car at the 11th of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
Torrence, Hight Top NHRA Heartland Nationals

Steve Torrence raced to his fifth consecutive race victory Sunday afternoon at the 31st annual Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties at Heartland Motorsports Park when he faced his father, Billy Torrence, in the final round. Robert Hight was also victorious in Funny Car at the 10th of 24 events on the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule.

Defending Top Fuel and Funny Car world champions Steve Torrence and J.R. Todd claimed the top spot in each of their respective categories Saturday afternoon at the 31st annual Menard’s NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minities at Heartland Motorsports Park for the 10th of 24 events on the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. 
Torrence, Johnson, Jr., Kramer, Smith Win at Chicago
  22nd annual Route 66 NHRA Nationals
Tommy Johnson Jr. piloted his Make-A-Wish Foundation Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car to victory for his first win since the Auto Club NHRA Finals in 2017 in an explosive final round at the 22nd annual Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway. Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Deric Kramer (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also winners in their respective categories at the ninth of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
Torrence, Capps, Butner, Hines Win at Richmond
  Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park
Defending Top Fuel world champion Steve Torrence secured his second consecutive victory at the Virginia NHRA Nationals and third of the season Sunday evening at Virginia Motorsports Park. Ron Capps (Funny Car), Bo Butner (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also winners in their respective categories at the eighth of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Defending Top Fuel world champion Steve Torrence rolled to his second straight victory on Sunday with a win at the 39th annual Arby's NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. Ron Capps (Funny Car) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also winners in their respective categories at the seventh of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
B. Force, Hight, Krawiec Top Atlanta NHRA Qualifying

Brittany Force powered to the No. 1 qualifying position in Top Fuel on Saturday at the 39th annual Arby's NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. 

Robert Hight (Funny Car) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also the No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the seventh of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. Qualifying concluded after the third session on Saturday due to weather.

Torrence, Langdon, Hines Winners at zMax
  NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals
Shawn Langdon picked up his first Funny Car win at the 10th annual NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals to become only the second driver in history to win in both the Top Fuel and Funny Car categories at zMAX Dragway. He is the 17th driver in NHRA history to secure victories in both categories. Steve Torrence (Top Fuel) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also victors in their respective NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series categories.
Salinas, Hight, Stoffer Number 1 Qualifiers at zMax

Mike Salinas, Robert Hight and Karen Stoffer collected the number one qualifier spots in Saturday’s qualifying for Sunday’s 10th-annual NGK Spark Plugs Four Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway. With rain and high-winds limited Friday’s qualifying to just a single nighttime session, teams were left with little room for error during Saturday’s final two sessions, with some of the top competitors only making the show on their final runs of the day.
Mike Salinas scores first win in Las Vegas

Mike Salinas captured his first career win in his second final round with a terrific reaction time in just his fourth race paired up full-time with legendary crew chief Alan Johnson. The San Jose-based businessman defeated Brittany Force, Clay Millican and Doug Kalitta to the stripe at the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals to score his victory. 
Tim Wilkerson earns first pole since 2017
  Mike Salinas, Bo Butner, Matt Smith take top spots in Las Vegas
Tim Wilkerson secured the 20th No. 1 qualifier of his career and his first since 2017 Thunder Valley NHRA Nationals in Bristol. The Funny Car veteran took pole at the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas alongside Mike Salinas, who took the Top Fuel No. 1 qualifier for the second time in his career. Bo Butner earned his second Pro Stock pole of the season and is chasing his third win of the campaign. Matt Smith, the defending Pro Stock Motorcycle champion, will take on a difficult quad at the first four-wide event of the year from pole position. 
Crampton, Hight, Butner, and Hines win Gatornationals
  The 50th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals was historic
As the winners of the historic 50th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, Richie Crampton, Robert Hight, Bo Butner, and Andrew Hines are now the proud owners of a special edition gold Wally trophy. Crampton won in Gainesville for the second-straight year when he drove the Kalitta Motorsports DHL Top Fuel dragster to a final round win against Clay Millican. Following wins against Antron Brown, Leah Pritchett, and the very competitive entry of T.J. Zizzo, Crampton won the final on a holeshot with his 3.769 barely edging Millican's 3.756. Crampton was able to claim his ninth-career win by a final margin of just 0.0032-second.
Torrence, Hagan, and Coughlin win in Phoenix
  Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals
Billy Torrence, Matt Hagan, and Jeg Coughlin Jr. had the hot hands on a cool weekend in the desert outside of Phoenix and collected victories at the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals. Torrence, the low qualifier, collected his second career NHRA Top Fuel trophy when final-round opponent Leah Pritchett smoked the tires in the final. Prior to the final, Torrence had defeated Terry Totten, Mike Salinas, and Jordan Vandergriff to get to Pritchett.
Hight, Kalitta, Butner win NHRA Winternationals
  At Pomona, California
Robert Hight claimed his fourth win at Auto Club Raceway to kick off the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series the right way. He defeated Jack Beckman with a 3.881-second, 329.75 mph holeshot run to leave the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals with the points lead. Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel) and Bo Butner (Pro Stock) also leave Pomona with victories and the lead in their categories.
Pomona: Torrence, Hight, Brogdon take poles

Top Fuel world champion Steve Torrence, former Funny Car champ Robert Hight, and returning Pro Stock racer Rodger Brogdon snagged pole position at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals.  Final eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10. The last time Steve Torrence was at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, he was wrapping up an unprecedented run to his first world title.
