New IndyCar team announcement?UPDATE #2 Was all this hype really necessary? For two races? As you said, AJ struggled in NASCAR, and now is using IndyCar as his soft landing spot. IndyCar people need to remember the very instant a mid-level NASCAR seat opens, AJ will go South leaving them high and dry and taking his fans with him. Sure, in the interim he'll wax poetic about what a great organization Penske is and how lucky he is to get a second chance. But at the end of the day, IndyCar's biggest press conference of this interminable off-season was to announce a down on his luck mid-level NASCAR driver is running IndyCar for two races. A very sad day indeed. Brian C.
03/08/13 This announcement was about AJ Allmendinger driving in two IndyCar races. Such a fuss for a driver who turned his back on IndyCar Racing and then uses IndyCar to try a resurrect his career after getting into substance abuse problems and falling out of grace with sponsors and NASCAR.
03/07/13 An IZOD IndyCar Series team and Indianapolis 500 announcement has been scheduled for 11 a.m. (ET) March 8 from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
