Richard Philippe to move up to Atlantics AutoRacing1.com spoke to the father of Champ Car driver Nelson Philippe and younger brother Richard Philippe (pictured right). 15-year old Richard is doing well in Formula BMW this year, taking a number of poles and race wins and in the hunt to win the championship. We quizzed dad on his plans for Richard next year. "Our plan is to move him up to the Champ Car Atlantic Series in 2006. He will be 16 in January, I hope he is old enough," said Thierry Philippe. AutoRacing1.com since found out that 16 years old is the minimum age for the Atlantic series, so Richard will qualify for 2006. In two weeks both brothers will be racing together in Denver so Dad can see both race the same weekend.
