The Snake to start IndyCar team with GanassiUPDATE Autosport magazine in the UK is reporting that Chip Ganassi is not interested in expanding past a two car team, but has said that he is interested in a junior team, to develop talent for 3 to 4 years down the road. Could it be related to our March 31st rumor below, where we heard Ganassi might do something with Don The Snake Prudhomme.
This is somewhat analogous to Roger Penske and his son's IndyCar team. And Penske and Ganassi always copy each other eventually.
Chip has done something similar before with the Alex Lloyd/Townsend Bell Sam Schmitt set up.
Car could be prepped by TCGR and run by a semi autonomous team part or fully owned by Chip. Could this be the team for Graham Rahal?
03/31/10 Rumor has it that Don Prudhomme and Snake Racing could be making a return to racing, but not drag racing. We hear that Prudhomme is looking to have his own team or partner with someone in an IRL team in 2011!
Prudhomme has always been a big fan of F-1 and IRL open wheel racing. The speculation is that if it happens, Target-backed Chip Ganassi Racing will be involved.
