Tony George to replace Walker

Tony George's hat says it all – he is IndyCar

Rumor has it that Tony George is angling to take the IndyCar Director of Competition position vacated by Derrick Walker after this season.

When it happens there will be a revolt by the small remaining IndyCar fan base who blame George for the destruction of IndyCar racing when he split the sport in 1995.

This will also be a major conflict of interest as George is part owner of the Ed Carpenter team. Stay tuned as this rumor unfolds. Mark C. reporting live from Pocono Raceway.
