Jorge Lorenzo will finally resume his 2019 campaign after an injury layoff, Repsol Honda has confirmed.

The five-time world champion will hit the track at Silverstone this weekend after missing the last four races.

Lorenzo crashed heavily in Friday practice at the Dutch TT and fractured two vertebrae. He was ruled out of the race, and the three events after that.

He was no chance to return in Germany, and after the summer break Honda kept him on ice for the Czech and Austrian races.

It was in Austria where Lorenzo’s name hit the headlines where it was reported he had entertained a move back to Ducati.

However, it was later confirmed Lorenzo had committed to his Honda deal for 2020. The initial rumors cast a cloud over Jack Miller’s future, which has since been set in stone with the Aussie signing a new one-year extension with Pramac Racing.

Silverstone has been a happy hunting ground for Lorenzo, who won three premier class races at the circuit for Yamaha in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

Five different riders have won the last five races at the track across four factories, making for an enthralling battle for Sunday’s race.
