More Upgrades Coming to Belle Isle

One of the better stories of last year's IndyCar season was the series' successful weekend in Detroit. Of course after a rather forgettable 2012 event, Chevrolet Belle Isle Grand Prix of Detroit promoter Roger Penske made significant upgrades to the race surface, and redesigned the track layout. The result was this year's very successful debut of the doubleheader in Detroit.

In this Detroit Free Press article, Penske talks about many of the investments and active role he has taken in helping Detroit get back on its feet in the wake of the economic downturn. And The Captain also indicates further improvements are coming to Belle Isle for both race fans and citizens of The Motor City.

Of course, we're not the least bit surprised. Everything The Captain does, he does right. He'll be 77 on February 20th, and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. You also have to imagine that the future of the IndyCar race in Detroit is bright, with Penske's support behind it.
