On F1 drivers moving to IndyCar

Question: It seems that we could have a few 2012 F1 drivers out of a job. Do you think any IndyCar teams would be interested in the likes of Bruno Senna, Kamui Kobayashi, Vitaly Petrov, Heikki Kovalainen and Narain Karthikeyan? Rubens Barrichello found a home here. What chance a few more to make the move? (Graeme, Tyne & Wear, U.K.)

Answer: From the side of the IndyCar team owners, money talks. So yes, there would be interest if the backing were there. Unless it’s Petrov, who is said to have sponsorship and an interest in IndyCar, I don’t see many of these guys wanting to come this direction at this point in their career. Senna flatly has said no. It was interesting to read on the India Today website that Karthikeyan “may be forced" to pursue IndyCar. I think that’s where it stands with a lot of guys with Formula One aspirations. It depends on their options. Indy Star
