Penske threatens to leave IndyCar?

In this USA Today article Roger Penske gives the first hint that he might leave the IndyCar Series.

"I'm going to stay out of the political part of it. If we don't like what's out there, we've got plenty of racing to do in other series," Penske says. "But we support Indy and the series, and we have from the very beginning. So I don't see a situation that would be much different, but you never know."

Out of one side of his mouth he says he supports Indy and the series, but out of the other side he says "If we don't like what's out there, we've got plenty of racing to do in other series (we assume he means his NASCAR teams) and then he says, "I don't see a situation that would be much different (i.e. he supports the series), but you never know."

Take it for what it is worth, but Roger can turn his back on IndyCar with the snap of his fingers, much like he did to CART and more recently to Dodge.

Note to Ryan Hunter-Reay – choose your team carefully. Is Roger in IndyCar for the long haul or isn't he? Hmm………
