Rossi announces that his grandfather passed away

Alexander Rossi appeared to have a perfect weekend winning the Acura GP of Long Beach from start-to finish for the 2nd year in a row.

But he didn't.

Rossi learned that his grandfather on his mother's side, Donald Russell had passed away. Our condolences to him and his family.

One interesting tidbit when asked his best memory of his grandfather, Rossi said, "He was getting old, so it wasn't a huge surprise. But he was someone that I looked up to a lot.

"We had a thing called the Straight Arrow Club which he taught me as a young kid, not do anything stupid, keep the arrow straight (i.e. when in doubt, do what's right).

"I think I'm the president of that club now since he's moved off."
