IndyCar/SMI relationship going down the tubes?

From Bruton Smith on twitter – The relationship with IndyCar is strained because the leaders listen to the drivers and owners too much, which is probably true. He also goes onto say that he doesn't care if IndyCar comes back to Texas (or Sonoma?) and says Gossage probably doesn't care either. Not only that but he says IndyCar needs new leadership and cars (didn't they just get new cars?).
