Two new F1 teams to fold
Ecclestone today cast doubt on both US F1 and another newcomer in Campos making it on to the grid for the opening grand prix of 2010 in Bahrain in mid-March.
Despite Ecclestone's concerns, Windsor said: "I'm surprised Bernie said that. We will be there. We're in good shape.
"Everything is going well and we are looking forward to the year.
"We've just finished the chassis and are now in the hands of (engine suppliers) Cosworth."
"We are trying to find the best drivers we can. There's no rush," Windsor told BBC Sport.
"We have no date (for car completion). It's difficult to predict when that date would be.
"However, there will be a moment when we announce the drivers at the factory, and that will be some time towards late January."
12/22/09 (GMM) Bernie Ecclestone does not expect two of F1's four new teams to actually race in 2010, according to the Times newspaper.
The London based publication said the sport's 79-year-old chief executive was referring to Campos and USF1.
"I think the people we expected to perform will and those that we thought wouldn't, won't," Ecclestone is quoted as saying.
Interestingly, however, the British billionaire also told the newspaper he expects 24 cars to be lining up for the Bahrain season opener next March.
But with 13 teams confirmed for the 2010 world champion, the loss of USF1 and Campos would result in a 22-car grid.
The Serbian outfit Stefan GP is expected to formally take over the design of Toyota's 2010 car and subsequently test it, in the hope of debuting either next year or in 2011.
