Good morning from Indianapolis. The weather is perfect right now, a sunny 64 degrees with not a cloud in the sky. Temperatures are expected to reach in the low 80's, which will be much warmer than yesterday's temps. Let's just not look at the weather forecast for today since it was not dependable yesterday. More thunderstorms are predicted late in the afternoon.

After an emotional Bump Day, all 33 cars will have to do it again and re-qualifying for next week's race today. Drivers will have 45 minutes to practice today starting at Noon. Cars in positions ten through thirty-three will line up in reverse qualifying order from yesterday at 2:45 pm and do a 4 lap qualifying run to secure their race position. The Fast Nine Shootout will start at 5 pm where the first nine positions will line up in reverse order and re-qualify for the first three rows.

This is the second day of the Crown Royal Armed Forces Qualifying weekend. There will be an enlistment ceremony in the Pagoda Plaza this morning at 10:45 am. And you can add a name of a person that honorably served in a United States military unit to the Crown Royal Military Heroes Wall of Gratitude.

Panels not working for Indy 500

When the season started, AR1 did a story on the LED panels that IndyCar had redesigned with the new car. If you have been watching the last two races, you would have noticed that the panels are not working. We spoke with Jay Frye, IndyCar's President of Competition and Operations, about the reason the panels have not been lit the last few weeks. Frye explained that not all the panels were working correctly and IC decided to turn them off until they can work out the issues. Indianapolis has various places around the track to view the running order. Frye mentioned the panels would be operating for the double races in Detroit the weekend after the Indy 500.

AR1 will keep you updated today.
