Wurz eyes future in F1

UPDATE (GMM) 2007 Williams racer Alex Wurz has hinted that his next formula one foray could be in the commentary box.

The 33-year-old is believed to be negotiating an out-of-cockpit advisory role for the Grove-based squad, after relinquishing his race seat to Kazuki Nakajima prior to the season finale in October.

According to the Austrian magazine 'Weekend', however, Wurz's vast experience, as a veteran of nearly 70 grands prix and several years as a prominent test driver, might also be put to another use in the near future.

"I would enjoy illustrating to the best of my ability the extremes of this fascinating sport," he said.

12/20/07 (GMM) Alex Wurz has not yet farewelled the world of formula one.

The Austrian veteran relinquished his Williams race seat to Kazuki Nakajima before the 2007 season finale, but speculation has linked him with a new role for next year and beyond.

Wurz, 33, remains under his current contract with the Grove team until December 31.

He told sportnet.at: "I am working on some things, but at the moment this is not for the media."
