Herb plans on more IndyCar Series events

Jon Herb is looking beyond the 91st Indianapolis 500. The owner-driver of the No. 19 Racing Professionals Dallara/Honda/Firestone said, "We have made a commitment to enter a team in three races — the Indy 500 and two additional races." Depending on sponsorship, Racing Professionals could expand its IndyCar Series schedule. In 2001, Herb started 18th and finished 27th in the Indianapolis 500 in a Tri Star Motorsports car. Racing Professionals submitted an entry for the 500-Mile Race two weeks ago. Herb lives in Orlando, Fla., where he is head of AERCON Industries' residential marketing group. The company manufacturers a lightweight concrete construction product for commercial and residential projects. Racing Professional was formed in 2002, with Herb competing in six IndyCar Series races. In 2004-06, Herb made 23 starts in the Indy Pro Series (one victory and 15 top-10 finishes) in an AERCON-sponsored car. Herb also has raced in the U.S. F2000, ARCA, Star Mazda, and USAC Silver Crown and Midget series.
