MotoGP to force Indy redesign?

In order to secure a second US round of the MotoGP World Championship, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is reported to be ready to modify its existing road course layout.

It is highly unlikely that the MotoGP riders or the FIM would agree to use the circuit's fast, wall-lined, final corner, as present on the current Formula One road course.

Motorcycle USA reports that the final turn will indeed be removed from a MotoGP inspired redesign, the layout of which has apparently already been approved by the FIM. The banked corner forms part of the legendary oval used for IndyCar and NASCAR racing, but has been the scene of several heavy F1 accidents. It is reported that the grand prix cars will also use the new MotoGP layout.
