Monterrey attendance again down

For the third year in a row the promoters for the Monterrey, Mexico Champ Car race have reduced the number of grandstands for 2006. Based on the seating chart recently published for 2006, the number of grandstands is now less than 50% of what they were when the race debuted in 2001 and is the same number as the recent A1GP race there. Given the downward trend, if the IRL and Champ Car merge we simply do not see this race making the cut unless someone gives this event a big shot in the arm real soon.
