Bank of America to ink big NASCAR deal

Bank of America will “soon expand its NASCAR portfolio with a wide-ranging sponsorship deal at most or all of" Int’l Speedway Corp.’s (ISC) 12 owned or operated tracks, according to sources cited by Erik Spanberg of the CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL. BofA inked its first NASCAR deals in ’05, signing on as the lead sponsor of NBC and TNT’s “Countdown to Green" prerace show and as the official bank of Speedway Motorsports Inc. The SMI deal, “estimated to be worth" $2.5M per year, includes the naming rights for the fall Nextel Cup race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway beginning this year. The ISC deal “makes sense for BofA, as the company has tracks in several of the bank’s key markets, including California and Florida" CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL
