Valtteri Bottas Takes on the 2017 Orchid Run & Ride!

Every year, our friends from PETRONAS and PETRONITA organize the ‘Orchid Run & Ride’ – giving athletes of all ages and abilities the chance to take on a 5k / 12k route on foot or by bike around the center of Kuala Lumpur. For 2017, the event had a rather special guest competitor… none other than Silver Arrows superstar Valtteri Bottas, who was on hand to kick start the race, hand out the traditional Orchids at the finish line and get stuck into the course himself, of course!

Aside from being a great day out, the Orchid Run & Ride supports the local Government's initiative to promote healthy living and national unity amongst Malaysians through sports and raises awareness and funds for charities and organizations in need. Why the Orchid?

Well, for those who didn’t know, the PETRONITA logo is inspired by the orchid flower, which symbolizes the elegance and beauty of a woman. It also symbolizes the strength, resilience, hope and aspiration of the members of the Association in contributing to the advancement of women and empowering the communities in the country. Basically, it’s a brilliant day for a brilliant cause. Hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed running!
