Schu eyes switch to Red Bull team

Michael Schumacher's manager has admitted that the seven time world champion appears at the top of Red Bull's driver wish list.

Willi Weber said he and the 36-year-old German are 'honored' that the energy drink-owned outfit is already showing signs of wanting Schumacher in the blue and silver car.

He told the German 'TZ' publication: ''But first Michael has to decide whether he wants to drive at all after 2006.

''Then we can think about other things.''

It was reported earlier this week that Red Bull boss Christian Horner 'giggled' at the suggestion that Ferrari's multiple champion would switch teams.

But the Briton now suggests to 'TZ' that the prospects of Schumacher's move from scarlet to blue and silver should perhaps not be treated so casually.

He said: ''I can quite imagine Michael driving with us in 2007.

''Next year we want to be a top five constructor. Then in 2007, Adrian Newey's influence on the car will really start to be seen.''

Weber, however, warned that Red Bull will have to line up behind Ferrari if it seriously wants to sign the super star.

''Ferrari will be given our highest priority,'' he vowed.
