Fisi eyes Ferrari seat

F1's Roman, Giancarlo Fisichella, says his Ferrari dream is still alive.

The Renault driver will stay put in 2006, but test driver Heikki Kovalainen is being groomed to move in as Fernando Alonso's future teammate.

''I have a contract with Renault,'' a cagey Fisichella, 32, told Gazzetta dello Sport, ''so my goal is to win the championship with them.''

Despite obvious frustration with Maranello based Ferrari's modern policy to snub Italian drivers, however, he professes to still believe in scarlet magic.

''In Italy, Ferrari is a myth,'' Fisichella enthused, ''and I am Italian!' He said he would be 'interested' if Jean Todt knocked on his motor home.

But 'Fisi' also took a mild swipe at Ferrari's decision to hire Felipe Massa as a 2006 replacement for Rubens Barrichello.

''He is a quick driver,'' Giancarlo said, ''but when we were both at Sauber (in 2004), I was always ahead of him.''
