Racy Rossi rumor reignited

MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi has vowed to take his time in deciding whether to switch from two wheels to formula one.

The colorful Italian, who finished an impressive second at the Monza Rally last weekend, said F1 was a 'big step' that he'd only take 'to win'.

Speculation that Ferrari's 2007 offer to Rossi is genuine has been reignited since his last outing in the scarlet single seater. Not only did 'Vale', 26, test recently at Mugello, he ran at Fiorano — just one day earlier.

''I have nothing to say for the moment,'' Rossi said at Monza. ''F1 is a long road that requires proper preparation.''

In his rally Subaru, Rossi showed he is made of the right stuff by not only winning an 'exhibition' stage, but beating former world rally champion Colin McRae to second in the main race.

But in an attempt to calm the Rossi rumor, Luca di Montezemolo – Ferrari president – called a halt to media gossip by insisting that Vale 'will know what to do'.

''Maybe there's already been too much said about him regarding this issue,'' he told 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'.
