California Speedway expected to announce $10 M upgrade

The entertainment area, which will be open on race weekends and be sponsored by an unnamed ISC corporate partner, is also designed to “steer racing fans into the increasingly elaborate tents" set up by sponsors to promote their products. The project would also “improve traffic flow into and out of" the track’s 32,000 parking spaces, in addition to Metrolink train service to the track L.A. TIMES 11/14/05 ISC today will unveil a $10M-plus plan “to create a family-friendly entertainment area" at California Speedway. The area, which will be open on race weekends and be sponsored by an ISC corporate partner, will have a Wolfgang Puck-designed restaurant, a concert area and shade structures “to help shelter fans who arrive early on race days."
