MotoGP 2: Alex Marquez fastest on Friday morning before crash

Alex Marquez (brother of Marc) went fastest in FP1 at the Gran Premio Tribul Mastercard di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, just over two tenths tenth clear of teammate Franco Morbidelli before a highside at the end of the session for the rider from Cervera, who was subsequently taken to the Medical Center. He is not cleared to drive and is done for the weekend.

There were a number of other crashers in the session, including 2016 winner Lorenzo Baldassarri (Forward Racing Team), Jorge Navarro (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) and Xavi Vierge (Tech 3 Racing).
