Note: It should be noted from below that Denny Hamlin won both the Xfinity and Monster Cup races this past weekend at Darlington with an illegal car. But as always in NASCAR if you cheat to win, no matter what, you always keep your win and the record books will always list you the winner. The lesson is simple: Cheat to win.

NASCAR released the Post-Event Cheaters and Penalty Report for Darlington Raceway:

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series

Infraction Date: 9/3/2017 (post-race inspection)
Team: #11-Hamlin
Violation: L1 Section 20.14.2 Rear Suspension I-4 f Truck Trailing Arm Spacers/Pinion Angle Shims. Spacers/pinion angle shims must conform to the following drawing: A-008-01016d-16 REV. A. Notes: 6 The Truck trailing arm spacer / pinion angle shim mating surfaces must be planar and must be in complete contact with corresponding mating surfaces at all points and at all times.
Race finish is encumbered per Section 12.10 Encumbered Race Finishes.
Penalty: Crew chief (Mike Wheeler) has been fined $50,000 and suspended from two Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship Points Events. Team has been assessed with the loss of 25 owner points and 25 driver points.

Infraction Date: 9/3/2017 (post-race inspection)
Team: #88-Earnhardt, Jr.
Violation: Safety Sections 10.9.10.4: Tires and Wheels Note: Lug nut(s) not properly installed.
Penalty:Crew chief (Greg Ives) has been fined $20,000 and suspended from the next Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship points event.

NASCAR XFINITY Series

Infraction Date: 9/2/2017 (post-race inspection)
Team: #18 Joe Gibbs Racing
Violation: L1 Sections 20.14.2 Rear Suspension I-4 Truck Trailing Arm Spacers/Pinion Angle Shims;
h. Spacers/pinion angle shims must have single planar mating surfaces. Notes: All mating surfaces between the truck; trailing arm and the U-bolt saddle must be in complete contact with each other.
Race finish is encumbered per Section 12.10 Encumbered Race Finishes.
Penalty: Crew chief (Eric Phillips) has been fined $25,000 and suspended from two NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship Points Events. Team has been assessed with the loss of 25 owner points.

Violation: L1 Sections 20.14.2 Rear Suspension I-4 Truck Trailing Arm Spacers/Pinion Angle Shims;
