Telefonica and Renault

Telefonica will replace Mild Seven (Japan Tobacco) as Renault's title sponsor next year, according to Spanish reports.

It is claimed that the Spanish company has decided to pull the 'Movistar' brand out of MotoGP, thus freeing up around $15m of extra funds.

Telefonica returned to F1 with Renault, whose young Spanish driver Fernando Alonso will likely secure the drivers' world title, this year.

A European ban on tobacco advertising descended on July 31.

Meanwhile, the 'Symantec' name has joined the livery of the R25 at Monza, after the technology brand merged with existing sponsor Veritas Software.
