Hall of Fame Racing close to a sponsor deal

Hall of Fame Racing, the new NASCAR team owned by former Cowboys quarterbacks Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach, is close to reaching a sponsorship agreement to compete in Nextel Cup next season. Bill Saunders, general manager of the team, would not reveal any details but said things are close to being finalized. "Let me put it in a football analogy," Saunders said. "We're on the one-inch line and it's first-and-goal, so we're feeling fairly good about this. We hope to announce something next week." Saunders has worked diligently on the project since January of 2003, when Aikman first announced he wanted to start a NASCAR team. Dallas Morning News
