Pagenaud tops opening Mid-Ohio practice

With a lap time of 1:04.908, Simon Pagenaud placed the No. 1 Menards Team Penske Chevrolet atop the time charts in Friday morning's opening practice for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. Pagenaud, last year's winner here at Mid-Ohio, was followed by 2015 winner and hometown favorite Graham Rahal, a mere 0.0343 behind. Marco Andretti was third, with Helio Castroneves and Will Power rounding out the top-5.

The Verizon IndyCar Series will be back on track at 2:15 p.m. local time for practice 2.
