New NASCAR team owner

UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' today. Former NFLer TIM BROWN retired yesterday and announced “his foray into NASCAR ownership," according to Billy Witz of the L.A. DAILY NEWS. Brown said, “If it’s going to be America’s sport, it’s got to encompass all of America. NASCAR is not a sport that is marketed toward African-Americans. It’s just not the way they’ve gone about doing their business. The way things have turned around and turned about, now they understand that they have to do that and I’m looking forward to the opportunity." Witz reports Tim Brown Racing (TBR), which will begin racing next year, is forming a partnership with Roush Racing. Roush will supply TBR “with the chassis and technology and own" 49% of TBR, while Brown “lines up the four to five sponsors that will contribute the $20[M] needed for the start up" L.A. DAILY NEWS, 7/19 07/18/05 NFL receiving great, Tim Brown announced he will become a NASCAR team owner, during his retirement announcement today on ESPNews.
