Monterrey race to move

UPDATE Fans were not very happy at Monterrey, a lot of them left the grandstands before the race was over because they couldn’t take the heat anymore. Many were complaining to any newspaper or TV network they could find. Either change the race back to March or April, or many of these fans will not be coming back. One fan told me that he bought 2 tickets, but after going to qualifications on Saturday with his little kid, he decided to go alone on Sunday. More than a hundred fans had to be treated for sun burns, heat stroke, etc. May in Mexico? Just plain stupid. Jose Arrambide reporting from Monterrey. 05/22/05 Word in the Champ Car paddock is that the Monterrey race will probably move to March or April in 2006. It appears that a few cities are trying to land a date May – New York, Miami, Houston, and Buenos Aires among others (it seems that Houston is also in the running for May). We would not hold our breath on these just yet though. Jose A.
