Arie Jr and Casey Mears to have a go

UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' today. Arie Luyendyk, Jr. was named to pilot the No. 98 CURB/Agajanian/Beck Motorsports machine in The 89th Indianapolis 500; the rookie will have to undergo a special rookie orientation before attempting to practice and qualify the Dallara-Chevrolet. No word on Mears yet. 05/16/05 Beck Motorsports, which has yet to put a car on the track, is expected to debut this week with rookie Arie Luyendyk Jr. at the wheel. He'll need to pass rookie orientation. Meanwhile, Casey Mears, nephew of four-time Indy winner Rick Mears, was at the track Sunday rooting on his Ganassi Racing brethren. Mears, who drives for Ganassi's NASCAR team, isn't satisfied just coming to Indy as a spectator. "Chip knows I really want to run," he said. "Hopefully, that will happen soon." Indy Star
