Jordan in football link
Former flamboyant grand prix principal Eddie Jordan is linked with a $190m takeover of football team Manchester City. Speculation, although denied by a City spokesman, says the Irishman and Bryan Richardson are heading a consortium's proposal. ''We have received no contact from … Jordan,'' the spokesman said.
In fact, he revealed, Jordan may already be a 'shareholder' of the Manchester United football team. Meanwhile, fellow Irishman and ex-Jordan driver Eddie Irvine popped up again – his second appearance in two races – in the Barcelona F1 paddock. ''I'm into a wide range of projects,'' the Ulsterman, who also raced for Ferrari and Jaguar until 2002, told f1.com, ''including real estate.''
